Our AHPRA registered psychologists are able to provide a range of psychological assessments.

You might find it helpful to recieve a psychological assessment for one of the following reasons:

  • For diagnosis of various difficulties including Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disorder, or Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • To gain an understanding of your child's cognitive or academic skills compared to their peers

  • To understand your child's strengths and weaknesses

  • To gain an understanding of your child's functioning to assist with applications for NDIS funding

  • To determine if your child is gifted

At Kids Inspired, we like to cater our assessment packages to meet the needs of our clients. As such, pricing will depend on the reason for assessment. A typical package will involve the following elements:

A typical package includes:

  • 1 hour Initial interview with parent/carer to obtain background information and issues of concern ($180)

  • Administration of the assessment(s) ($180 for each hour of assessment, assessment times are variable and often depend on the complexity of the assessment)

  • A comprehensive report including the results of the assessment and clinical recommendations ($180 per hour of report writing)

Here at Kids Inspired, we offer the following assessments:

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition (WISC-V): Is a comprehensive assessment of cognitive functioning in the areas of Verbal Comprehension, Fluid Reasoning, Visual Spatial, Working Memory and Processing Speed. It also provides an indication of general intellectual ability

  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - Third Edition (WIAT-III): Is an assessment of a young person's academic abilities in the areas of reading, writing, comprehension, and maths. This assessment can be used in conjunction with the WISC-V to provide an assessment of a Specific Learning Disorder (like Dyslexia)

  • Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales - Third Edition: Is an assessment of a young person's functioning in their everyday life. It assesses communication, daily living, and social skills. This may be used in conjunction with a WISC-V to assess for possible Intellectual disability.
