Claire Phillipps is an Art Therapist and counsellor (MA, ATh, UWS) who is passionate about using creative art-making processes to effectively support children and adolescents living with a range of psychological, social and physical experiences.
Claire is registered with The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and uses evidence-based art therapy interventions and her psychotherapy skills to gently support clients to regulate, play, and explore their internal world and interpersonal dynamics. Claire’s practice is informed by person-centred and trauma-informed principles, which she developed during her time working in the out of home care sector with vulnerable adolescents.
Claire also has experience facilitating art therapy groups with neurodiverse children and adolescents, and in community and hospital settings, in which she worked with adults in both acute and long-stream wards. Claire brings her warm and calm presence to create a safe and attuned space in which clients can learn to regulate and explore their world through creativity or talk therapy.
